Celebrating its soulful richness with hip hop, jazz and funk, Summer in September is an ode to
the black experience in America. In his sophomore album, Cam Be captures the feeling of joy in
the midst of life’s struggles, empowering us all, as we flow through melodies of love, sorrow,
and inspiration. The self-produced album is an invitation to Cam Be’s personal cookout, where
we are reminded of the days of being together in community.

Summer in September ebbs and flows from upbeat funky sounds to softer soulful ones in such a
smooth yet electrifying way. Pulsating with vivid tones, it blends a variety of different instruments
with clear influences from 70’s funk. The album features a talented ensemble of Chicago artists
like Sam Trump (Trumpet, Vocals), Yaw (Vocals), Peter Jericho (Vocals), THISISSHEBA
(Vocals), Tarrey Torae, and Natalie Oliveri.
